Do toys thrown in the trash get recycled?
John S asked:
I tossed a bunch of dirty action figures, stuffed animals, and big plastic toy soldier mountain playset into the garbage. I know the stuffed animals won’t but what about the plastic toys?

What do you think I should get these poor children for Christmas?
Faerieeeiren asked:
I am on disability and do not have much to spend. I am all ready in debt from fixing my car. Everytime I get them things they break them immediately no matter what it is such that I stopped getting them so much. All they did for awhile was ask me to buy and bring me more not how are you today when I went to visit their parents. I had to teach them to say thank you and the charities locally can provide for Christmas better for them. I sent most of what I would have given them to poor Indians in lower rural Mexico who are related to me by marriage because I got very upset when I brought them some toys recently to see them begin tearing them up and beating each other up with them immediately. They tear heads off Barbies, legs off stuffed toys of good quality. I just am to the point I do not want to get them anything because they are selfish destructive self centered children and the parents are tired of picking up broken toys all over and throwing them out that they also buy.
Thanks I am just so frustrated with these kids. The parents appreciate it all and say thank you but these kids drive me crazy they are so selfish for being so poor.
And destructive. Last year I stopped giving them things until Christmas when I made them promise to take care of the toys and picked the most durable I could find. But eventually they destroyed these also by ripping off heads etc. I have seen them take toys from their cousins I gave them and beat each other up with them breaking them in the process. Then they lied to a relative telling them the younger uncles broke the toys they were given. Their parents are fed up with it and said don’t bring anything except something durable for the smaller children but they break these also. So I just sending it all to Mexico this year instead of giving any to them. But I still want something that will not be a burden to the parents that they will appreciate. I have thought about crayons and a big box of scrap drawing paper because they love it and no one ever gives them this at Christmas and it is easy for the parents to throw away.
I gave them some of my toys I collected and fixed up that I got all over which were beautiful when I finished them and it hurt me to see them destroyed so quickly after all the work I put into making them beautiful for poor children such that I am reluctant to have my heart hurt like this anymore.

Is it safe to let a 10 month old sleep with a stuffed toy with beaded eyes?
Bee ~Brit Mum~ asked:
All his teddies have stitched eyes but today we were at my grandparents house and he took a shining to a stuffed snowman, so much so that he cuddled up to it (he’s never really cuddled a teddy before!) and fell asleep on it - very cute! Anyway they let him keep it, and he held it all the way home and didn’t let it out of his sight until bedtime. He cried his heart out when I took it off him before I put him to bed, but I didn’t want him to have it when I couldn’t see him because as I said it had beaded eyes. He eventually went to sleep but he was an unhappy chappy! I’ve inspected it, it isn’t an old toy it’s never been used and I’ve pulled at the beads with my fingers and teeth and they’re completely fixed in, no movement at all. My dad says it’ll be fine but I’m not sure, what do you think? It’s cute because it’s the first time he’s ever really taken to one thing, he’s never cared for any of his blankies or snuggly toys, and he seemed to really love this, and I’d love to let him sleep with it in future, but obviously not if it’s a risk. Pulling the beads out isn’t an option as they’re fixed in so firmly it’d mean cutting them out with scissors and it’d ruin it and the stuffing would come out. If you think it’s a no no, then my second question anyway is what kind of age do you think it’s okay to let children play with stuffed toys with beaded eyes etc? He does have a few others which were gifts at birth which I give to him while I’m there but don’t let him have on his own, but fortunately he’s never taken a specific liking to any of the others!
Thanks for the answers so far!
Could someone please report Ambur J’s answer? My reports never get anything deleted.
I clicked the link (stupidly) and the site gave this message:
This web site at new-porn-tubeportal.com has been reported as an attack site and has been blocked based on your security preferences.
When reporting I clicked ‘illegal’ and gave privacy invasion as the reason, as by the look of it it’s invasive virus software. Don’t click it!!
Oh it’s ok it’s gone lol!
Thanks for your advice - I’ll definitely take it, reading this has confirmed what I already think I knew, as you say Amanda it is not worth the risk of waking up to find the saddest scenario possible. Thank you
And Denise - it was just a question. There is no need to be such a b*tch. There always has to be one, huh!

Stuffed animals and blanket for a two year old?
Carrie asked:
My child is almost two. How many stuffed animals and blankets should she sleep with in her crib? When she turned one I was letting her sleep with a small blanket and one stuffed animal. But now she’s in the phase where she wants to carry around EVERYTHING with her, toys, stuffed animals, blankets, household items LOL. And she wants more stuff in her crib with her. I gave her two blankets and two stuffed toys just now for her nap. Is that safe?

should children be allowed to trade toys without permission?
alguientemira asked:
my daughter’s friend (both 10) is used to trading toys with all her friends…
the first time she traded with my daughter, my daughter whined and cried that she missed her toy and I went and bought her another one, but I told her the rule now is NO TRADING.
her friend is over and I just found her traded toys and I brought up and my daughter says she forgot.
she asked me to just this time, I said firm NO and she has to ask me permission before she does.
I also reminded her that when children loose stuff parents call me asking me if they are here and I don’t like them thinking that they are.
anyway, she is upset with me now…
I just feel that the issue shouldn’t be a big deal, but tonight it was cause she was crying and we caused a scene in front of her friend.
I feel so mean, is this normal lol
ok,
yes and not doesn’t help…
well lol, I felt like I made most of the scene the firm way I spoke to her…

Is alumina trihydrate deadly to dogs?
Grim asked:
I’ve heard alumina trihydrate is used in some stuffed toys (children’s toys). If a dog were to eat rather than chew the stuffed toy, would this be bad for the animal? Google is no help to me atm.
