Does anyone know of an organization that takes stuffed animals and distributes them to kids who need them?
bekahdoo asked:
My kids have WAY too many stuffed animals that never even get played with anymore. They just sit around collecting dust or packed away in boxes. They are all in great condition and I hate to throw them away. Seems like they would brighten the day of a needy child who may not otherwise have a stuffed toy. Any suggestions?

yeh oxfam cancer research, jumble sales or why dont u take them to a local childrens hospital, or sell them on ebay?
Try your local police, some have programs to make use of animals for kids in crisis. You could also try your local Children and Youth Services agency, they also would make use of something like this.
when i grew out of childhood we donated all my old toys and stuffed animals to the salvation army. they assured us they would all find new homes.
toys for tots
lots of fire stations take them to in order to pass them out at fires to little kids.
local hospitals are always grateful of things for their childrens wards.
Take them to a local battered women’s shelter. Most of the kids there left home in a hurry and weren’t able to bring much with them to the shelters.
There is an organization called Toys for Tots. It is like Good Well but focuses mainly on toys. They usually have centers set up around Christmas but they probably have them for the other seasons also. Another option would be sending them to the Salvation Army. It is also a great organization. I think that it is great that you would rather donate the toys then sell them.
Build A Bear For Kids
Most places will not accept used stuffed animals because bugs might have gotten in them and laid eggs. I would call to find out for sure at the salvation army, or goodwill
