Cleaning stuffed animal that can’t go in washing machine?

Pandalinn asked:

I bought these stuffed monkeys with a little electronic thing inside that makes it make noises so I know I can’t put them in the washing mahine like their other toys. It says wipe clean and I don’t want to use soap and water really. I’ve heard of people using Lysol wipes on toys, but I wasn’t sure whether that was just for plastic toys. Are Lysol wipes safe for cleaning stuffed toys for my 6 month-olds or is there a better way to clean these toys? Sorry this was so wordy. LOL.

    Steam clean and some Fabreeze

Use a rung out washcloth with a little bit of soap. I learned that from “How Clean Is Your House”. Fabreez is a good idea also.

My daughter has this enormous ride on horse that says to clean it with a damp washcloth with soap suds on it (the foam ontop of a a bucket of soapy water) and to wipe it down with a non-soapy damp clothe.
I personally have used lysol wipes on it, folex or just plain baby wipes. Only my step mom has washed it according to the manufacturers directions.

My daughter has the same monkey and if it were to get to gross I would open up the back seam, remove the electronic, sew it up, wash it, re-open the seam and put the electronics back. By really bad I mean vomit or poo poo.
